Now in Private Banking at UBS (although I originally left law for Schroders), once I realised that I wanted to make the change, I met as many people in the private banking world as I could, including recruitment agencies (who were of limited help). With every person I met, I got two more names from him/her and then followed up with those new names. One of those names led to an interview etc. There was no easy solution. It was networking.
